What is Reflux?
Reflux happens when the lower oesophageal sphincter (the muscle between the stomach and oesophagus) doesn’t close properly, allowing acid to rise into the throat. This can cause irritation, burning pain, and other digestive symptoms. It’s often triggered by food, stress, or lying down after meals. When symptoms are frequent, it may be diagnosed as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD or GERD).

Symptoms vary but often include:
Bloating or feeling overly full after eating
Burning chest pain (heartburn)
Burping or nausea
Coughing, especially at night
