What is Pocket Lab?
Pocket Lab is New Zealand’s trusted online GP service. We provide same-day medical care from experienced New Zealand GPs completely online. From sick notes and prescriptions to lab test requests and injury care, Pocket Lab makes it easy to get quality healthcare without leaving home. We are not a laboratory testing or pathology service.
Who can use Pocket Lab?
Pocket Lab is available to anyone in New Zealand, including children. Patients under 16 must have a parent or caregiver involved in the consultation. Our services are open to residents, visitors, and international travellers. You do not need to be enrolled with us. Whether you are after a medical certificate, prescription, or general GP advice, our online doctors can help with no appointment needed. Our doctors cannot consult patients outside of New Zealand.
How does Pocket Lab work?
Pocket Lab is a 100% online GP service. You choose the service you need and book a time for a video call with one of our New Zealand registered doctors. During your appointment, the doctor will assess your needs and provide advice, prescriptions, medical certificates, or referrals as required. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your nearest pharmacy, and any documents are delivered straight to your inbox.
What are Pocket Lab's hours of operation?
Pocket Lab services are available 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. Our call centre hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours email us at hello@pocketlab.nz.
Can I enrol as a patient with Pocket Lab?
No enrolment is required to use Pocket Lab. We offer convenient, casual care without the need to switch from your regular GP. You can use our services when you need quick, online medical help and it is perfect for people who travel, work irregular hours, or can’t get in to see their usual doctor.
What is a telehealth consultation?
A telehealth consultation is a virtual appointment with a doctor, done online via video or phone call. It’s just like seeing your GP in person, but from your phone, tablet, or computer. Pocket Lab makes telehealth easy, safe, and fast and is ideal for common health issues, repeat prescriptions, and sick notes.
