What is Thrush infection?

Thrush is caused by an overgrowth of Candida albicans, a yeast that normally lives in the vagina in small amounts. It can multiply due to changes in hormones, antibiotic use, stress, or wearing tight, non-breathable clothing. While not a sexually transmitted infection, thrush can flare up after sex or during pregnancy.
